the invitation to dance
the invitation to dance
it doesn’t interest me how old you are, or what you do
i want to know if you will strip off labels
if you will be you and let me be me
to create a space that is inviting for all
it doesn’t interest me what shape your body is
i want to know if you will see your beauty
if you will cease hiding and taming
and let yourself shine
the fool
the fool
travels with ease and waves to the daisies
curiously stands beneath downward poured rain
is easily amused by unsteady bridges
preferring the scenery beyond the game
finds safe too predictable, quite frankly a bore
doesn’t keep company with mirrors and plans
skips along smiling, unshaken by lore
not trapped inside confines of fit-in-box land
makes trails where ego and fear cannot go
ignores edge’s warnings, and picks up the pace
gaily free-falls to tumultuous waters
dancing the magical dance of this place

the fool lives in the self-concept-less land of no concern…
the fool travels without ego, fear, or notice of mirrors…
the fool dances his joy-dance regardless of discriminating eyes…
and the fool experiences the pure bliss of doing so…
Tonight it’s about letting our inner fool out to play!
Calling all fools… come out, come out, wherever you are!
don’t let them tame you…

fun, free, feel grrrrrrreat friday
Friday = Fun + Free + Feel-grrrreat Movement
Fun = We want to have a good time…
Free = We get to be wild and move in our own unique beautiful spirited ways…
Feel-grrrrreat = We want our movements to feel grrrreat to our body (so that we don’t get a little too WILD and over do it)
be wild
measuring tapes and time travel
Hello! Happy Sunday! This afternoon our focus is going to be on what we in Nia refer to as “measurement.” In Nia, measurement refers to paying attention to the height, width and distance of our movements. We can do this easily by paying attention to our fingers and toes in relationship to our center, each other, walls, etc. read more

the joy of movement – part 2 – tweakification
Tonight we will continue the focus of The Joy of Movement. Remember, the first step is to choose to sense for Joy. “But what do we do if it’s not there” you ask? Answer: Tweak it! Alter the movement (make small modifications to it) until you find it. read more
